What is the hair growth cycle?
Three different phases are distinguished in the hair growth cycle. 85% to 95% of the hair is in the active growth or anagen phase (lasts for several years), the remaining 5 to 15% is in the catagen (transition phase, when the hair no longer grows; this phase lasts for a few weeks) or the telogen phase (lasts from a few weeks to a few months). At the end of the telogen phase a hair always falls out and is replaced by a new one. There is an average of 100,000 follicles in the scalp (people with blonde hair have the most follicles, people with red hair – the least), and their number does not change during the lifetime. This means that a new hair always replaces a hair that has fallen out.
What causes hair loss and thinning?
There are countless reasons that can cause hair loss and thinning – ageing process, lack of essential nutrients in your diet, stressful life periods, pregnancy, hormonal imbalance, heredity and certain deseases.
What is the average amount of hair a healthy person loses daily?
A healthy person loses an average of 50 to 200 hairs within one day, and should not worry about this amount.
It seems that I lose slightly more hair during the application of this treatment – why is it so? Should I worry and stop using it?
Since the serum is applied to dry hair, performing a stimulating massage, it is normal to observe slightly more hair fallen out during or after the rinse. This is also the result of mechanical impact, and you would lose those very hair anyway – during drying, combing or stiling it afterwards. Keep in mind that scalp massage and every washing mean a slightly extra load for the hair. The serum supplies hair follicles with essential nutrients for scalp health and hair growth, stimulating new hair growth – and these hairs naturally replace the hairs falling out at the end of the telogen phase. Don’t worry!
I feel a slight tingling during and after the use of this treatment – is it normal?
Yes, it is normal to observe mild tingling, when starting to use hair growth treatments. The active ingredients in the product stimulate microcirculation in the scalp, and the mentioned sensations indicate the action and effectiveness of the product.
